Things You Will Love to Know about the Paris Fashion Week
It’s always such a delight whenever I come across other authors that share the same passions I have. I recently got the chance to meet the guys from INSIDR. They have all sorts of cool tips for travelling around Europe! From fashion week, to shopping, to night entertainment they have tons of tips and tricks to help you become an INSIDR.
I’ve always been curious to see what fashion week is like. Even though the shows are shared live on social media platforms like Instagram and Facebook nowadays, I’m pretty sure there are still a lot of things that go on behind the scenes. For example, the Chanel shows that are always held in Paris every season have the most extravagant productions! Call me shallow but it’s for these reasons that I’m planning on traveling all the way to Paris someday.
There are a lot of blogs and Instagram influencers that I’ve followed for some guidance but none of them quite like the guide I read from INSIDR . They shared the most helpful details about what goes on during fashion week. I loved that they included the restaurants and clubs where after-parties happen. They even shared some brilliant places to stay right in the middle of all the action! They gave tons of insight into the different neighborhoods you can stay in and suggested you stay in the 8th arrondissement which is where most of the flagship stores are! I was quite lucky to stumble upon it while hounding Google for some answers!
After you read all about fashion week on their website you’ll need to find the perfect Parisian outfit for it. But don’t worry, INSIDR has you covered! You’ll find so many shopping hacks on their website! Shopping in Paris sounds so good after reading their shopping guide. They introduced me to so many local Parisian brands I’d never heard of before like Fauchon for some tea and sweets, Maison de la truffle for exquisite food with truffles, and a Parisian shoe brand called Jonak.
After reading about the amazing shopping experience Paris has to offer, I went online to look for some prospective hotels for myself. My main concern is being able to stay somewhere safe and central (so it’s close to all the shops). Because of INSIDR’s recommendation I was looking for a hotel that’s in the 8th arrondissement because it’s quite central and it’s near all the big shopping places like Galeries Lafayette and rue Saint-Honore. As I continued to browse through their website I found INSIDR’s shopping guide, in the guide they suggested the lovely Hotel Chavanel which is a stylish boutique hotel in the 8th just near Opera! I’m so looking forward to making my trip come true. For now, I have to work hard and save up! Wouldn’t it be amazing to spend fashion week in Paris just walking down Champs Elysees, buying outfits and cosmetics at Galeries Lafayette, and returning back to my room at Hotel Chavanel? Ahh, a girl can dream.
Another thing I want to share is how much I’ve discovered about going around Paris at night! INSIDR wrote in length about all the different activities there are to check out at night while in the city. Of course there’s nothing wrong about sitting in a restaurant for dinner and some wine but I’m the type of person who needs to be doing something all the time! I loved reading about the Moulin Rouge.
I was surprised to see an article all about the Moulin Rouge. INSIDR’s articles painted a really different picture from what I’ve heard. I was a bit skeptical at first but I’m glad I read it because I realized how unfair the misconceptions are about the show. INSIDR was very detailed in their article to talk about the history of the French French Cancan and also about the production and craftsmanship that takes place to keep the show running consistently. Their website also described the show and the dinners they have. I hope I can experience it for myself someday. Did you know that the costumes, boots, and even the feathers that go on stage are all hand-crafted? I think that’s amazing and if I’m ever lucky to find myself in Paris, I’ll definitely book a dinner show at the Moulin Rouge.
