Personalized Childhood Drawing Plates by Seowoon Oh
If eclectic is your middle name, and you have artistic kids in the family, then this is a great combination to put together when shopping for your new dishes. These plates take the drawings and images that you provide, ideally the doodles and drawings done by the kids that you know and love, and make them into one-of-a-kind dishware for your dinner table.
Artist Seowoon Oh designed the ceramic plates that will become the backdrop for your own artwork. The plates are handcrafted and of high quality. Oh uses a slip-casting method from her native Korea, which is called “buncheong”. In this method, clay is painted with a white slip that is then stained bluish-green. At that point, your child’s doodles and line drawings are carved into the surface of the pottery. The pieces are glazed and fired, and are forever immortalized to be used for everyday meals or Christmas dinners, and whatever other meal you want to use them for.
Each plate is handmade and sold individually.
